I had the same thing happen on my '99. From what I have heard, if one is going bad it tends to take the other ones with it. Never fully bought that, but I did have 2 go out, one after the other. They were intermittant at first and then eventually failed.
Price was ~$80 a piece ( parts guy said they had a ton of stock because they go out so often.)
install was not too tough. It took about 2 hours for 2 doors. If you have a drill and a rivet gun its not hard. ( the part even came witht he rivits..) The hardest part was removing the door panel.
