: Hi ...
: I'm looking the RPO codes to determine the final axle ratio of a 6.5TD Burb.
: Any advices welcome.
Chris, there are three typical axle ratios in P/U and burbs:
GT4 is a 3.73
GT5 is a 4.10
my memory is failing on the RPO code for the 3.42, but if the sticker in you glove box isn't the GT4 or GT5, count on the axle ratio being a 3.42.
Also, the 1/2 ton diesel burb typically had a 3.42 axle ratio and the 3/4 ton had the 3.73. the reason for this is that the diesel spins slower and with more torque, therefore doesn't need the lower geared rearend.
