More advice for our 1996 Suburban.....

Even after the fuel pump, sending unit, and two O2 sendor replacements, we are continuing to have problems with hard, hard starts and poor running. Illustration: Yesterday, hard starting resulting in running on 4 or 6 cylinders for about 5 minutes until they all came on line. Tech Larry scoped the 'Burb, and told me there was a misfire on #5 - I told him it was more like four cylinders, not just one. He changed the TPS, and checked the O2 sensors, finding powdered silica on the O2s - he then told me that this is usually a sign of contaminated fuel, and it could be that all of the problems we've had in the last three weeks are related to bad fuel. This all started the morning after the wifey returned from Georgia after a trip, and made her last fill-up stop at a BP station in Ohio (we're in NE Ohio).

Now, does this sound rational to anyone here? Could all of this stem from 42 gallons of bad gas? We're set to go to the dealer on Tuesday, as Tech Larry doesn't have the equipment to search any further, or to reprogram the ECM if necessary.

We love this big green machine, but the $$$ are starting to literally fly out of my wallet.....
