Don't know if this applies here, since I have the same problem with a 1999 Silverado.
I read the TSB on this (for the 99 Silverado), and they recommend replacing the entire Throttle Body. They explicitly state "don't try cleaning".
Well, I read some resolutions at another site, and seems that anyone cleaning the thing gets the problem resolved.
I also had a choice: fork out $300.00 for a new throttle body, and either install myself, or pay the extra for some Chevy dealer to install it; or, buy some $2.99 Throttle Plate and Intake Cleaner, and try my luck.
You can bet I did the latter, and whatta ya know? It worked. The Throttle Plate was incredibly gummed up. The problem only occurred when the vehicle got warm, I suppose this is when the gummy buildup got tacky, and sort of adhered the butterfly to the Throttle Body.
I used the 3M Throttle Plate and Intake Cleaner. Worked like a charm!
