You might also turn up the two, black adjuster knobs on the outside corners of the hood. These knobs are basically what the front of the hood rests on while in the lock/latched position. By turning them out, this will apply a little more upward pressure to the hood making it pop open better when you pull the latch inside. Hope this helps.
