Mine had same problem, same side. I used the minimum heat possible. Do not use a torch, too much localized heat. You don't want to heat the glass only the wire contact point. Cover the bare area with a little heat resistant paint when you are done for corrosion protection and you are good to go. Did mine going on three years ago and no problem since.
