Run the seat belt through as you normally would and click it. Take shoulder harness belt and pull all the slack out of the tensioned winder that is mounted in the floor until you can't pull any further. The belt should now wind up as to take up slack but will ratchet as it does. You will not be able to pull any slack on the shoulder harness until it is unbuckled and the belt is completely wound back up. The ratchet is then released.
To get a really snug fit I always push the car seat into the Suburban seat, allowing the car seat to be ratcheted snug into the Sub seat.
This should work on all the shoulder restraint belts, front or back.
However I do have one side on the middle seat that will not ratchet. Have taken it apart and have done everything I can to make it operate, no luck.
