: I just changed my spark plugs recently on my 2000. Pull hard on the rubber boot that is shaped like a socket (I used channel lock pliers), they might be tight so twist it a little back and forth but keep steady pulling action on the rubber boot. The whole thing pops off with the metal shield and all in one piece. You will bleed a little on the hands and arms like I did so use gloves and long sleeves for this. PS use the platinum plugs for replacement and be sure to use the dielectric grease and anti-sieze grease. Good luck.
