With the 5th year of the NBS, can one tell things got improved ?

Just curious with owners having experience (and not) with the OBS, and NBS. Has GM improved the things the go wrong in the OBS with the NBS ? IMG on the new Vortecs, transmissions, rear ends, brakes (I think so), battery cables - is it better ?
