Power door locks have always been a pain on the 99s (and earlier). Not a coincidence that they are failing now, as the warmer weather tends to make the units fail. By chance, were the units that were failing on the sun side of the vehicle? My 99 is black, and the locks always fail on the sun side, usually work again later on when they've been in shade. They recover faster in the winter, in the summer sometimes fail for days.

: Well the barn door power lock quit working today on my '99 2500 and the left rear side door's lock quit a couple of weeks ago. I know they're getting power because I popped off the panel on the barn door and watched it trying to move and I can hear the side door trying to move. I guess the only option is to replace these solenoids. Barn door doesn't look hard, just drill out rivets and replace. I assume you have to use a bolt or screw to replace the rivets. Are side door panels hard to remove? Solenoid hard to replace? Cost? I remember reading that when one went the rest followed.... hope not. I've owned GM stuff for years and this kind of stuff is always happening....GM engineering on this kind of stuff really "inhales with a pucker". Praise Dyno brake stuff is on the way so maybe it will be stopping in few days. Good thing the Japanese aren't making big trucks,LOL.
