Whatever saw you get, look for a big engine and a short bar. Let the saw do the work. I have an old McCullough Pro Mac 10-10. Big engine with A 16" bar. So bloody loud nobody wants to work around me-and that AFTER I put the good muffler on it. Got it back in '78. Can't get parts for it anymore since parent company is gone. Used it just last week. Put fresh chain on it (I have four I keep sharp and ready) and it just ate up the tree. Other thing I really like about it is the chain brake. Would not have a saw without one. If the saw tries to kick back, the brake come on-fast.
