Tire wear:

'Within spec' is a relative thing. I've had alignments that are within spec and were terrible, others right on. Sometimes 'within spec' means the guy doing the aligning didn't have to pop the knockouts to do the alignment. They need to be removed to get a proper alignment done (Once you know they're removed, don't let another mechanic try to charge you for their removal. It's like paying for a second appendectomy.)

Also, the 3/4 trucks are roughly 7000 lbs, so even if you're running D load tires, if they're underinflated you will get excessive lateral tire roll on turns and wear the outer edges. Underinflated for a 3/4 ton, in my opinion, is anything less than 60 psi unloaded.

I run my tires at around 65 psi on all 4 with Michelin LTX 265 LRE. Any less and I get side wear.
