What do you mean the diodes die because of jumping another vehicle? I thought it was very common practice to jump another vehicle with the engine running. Especially if the other vehicle has a really dead battery and needs some charging. Isn't that the reason for jumper cables? If you jump a vehicle with the engine off, you won't get as good of a jump vs. with the truck running.
Can you explain why the diode burned up by jumping another verhicle?
