Agree with Jake and Bish but add:

It should be changed somewhere under 10K miles IMHO to get out the break-in metal particles. After that you can usually get away with syn oil for 25 - 50K miles before changing. Towing will drop that rapidly.

If you have never changed it, then at the next major service do so. Then every 25K + - along with all the other driveline fluids.
