My standby is Mineral Spirits. Use for tar, etc. You might have some in the paint supplies.
Another trick is to use some other adhesive strip to stick to it and peel it off. If it will peel it will be far less of a mess than by dissolving it. Depends if it's pliable. Std adhesive roll here is 3M Automotive Acrylic Plus Attachment Tape.
Other common mild solvents are VMP Naptha and Xylene. WD40 or some of the orange oil products might work.
Acetone is too strong.
