10.5FF has end of pinion gear captive (like Ford 9") and uses three pinion(spider) gears. These ought to be plenty strong and unlikely to wear out.
Don't know the problem but would lube the drive shaft splines and check the transmission mount. Ever swap rear U joints? Have a ton of u-joints here if you need.
Better have a shop skilled in diffs look at it. They can tighten up the pinion nut a little to compensate for wear if nothing is bad.
