90% of the time it is the switch. It is what broke in my 93 K1500 - same symtoms. The unit just "yanks" off the end of the turn signal stalk.
Note: The unit has a long wire "tail" that disconnests near the bottom of the steering column. Disconnect and tie or tape a string onto it before removing, so that you end up with a "pull string" to get the new one intalled easily.
The Control Module is very reliable on those. it is used for a lot more than just GM Cars and trucks. Detroit Diesl with DDEC used it for curuise on big rigs.
I used to vounteer for a fire department that had early to mid 90's built Seagraves fire engines and the same module was used to control the thtottle on Detroit Diesel power plant to maintain constant water pump pressure for the 1500GPM Fire Pump (not the vehicle cooling system water pump)
Hope this helps - walt
: More off than on lately. Can't get it to set/reset or accel. Worked for one day all of a sudden then next day, nothing. 155,000 miles on truck with lots of using that switch over the years. Any general consensus? Bad switch/lever assy? Or is there a "brain box" somewhere that could be the culprit?
: Thanks for any help!
