The time it occurred for me, I had a hard time diagnosing exactly where it was coming from. Thought it was transmission, front rotors, rear end, tranny, etc.--took it in to dealer, the tech knew right off what it was. Being as nosy as I am, I was able to watch the repair being done (I knew these guys pretty well, after all the repairs I got out of my Tahoe's warranty--you should see the list!).
Seems to be a pretty common problem--pretty sure this is the solution--if it is, you've just joined "the club". Let us know what you find out...
