Here is the company that provides the mirror to many car manufacturers. They are very easy to install and most likely your harness will plug directly into the new mirror.
I installed one in my 91' Suburban (not an option for truck this old) and it works perfectly. If you do have to replace your unit, definitely do not purchase from dealer. This is the itentical one you will get from the dealer.
The Gentex, as referenced in a previous post is the other compeditor. Good luck!
