All lit says to use non-silicone based RTV.
Trick learned here few years ago: put the RTV on the diff side flange. Grease the cover side flange & gasket. Bolt up tight enough to seat, but not fully tight.
Let it sit till RTV sets, then tighten up the bolts to spec.
Next time you need to flush, just remove all of the cover bolts and wack the cover smack in the middle and the cover will pop off (make sure catch pan is underneath). Gasket will be glued to diff flange and not tear.
Just wipe clean both cover & magnet and rebolt on without needing new gasket.
