I mounted my 7-pin connector above the license plate light, in-line with the ribbed black plastic trim strip. I cut out part of the strip and replaced it with the connector. It turns out that the connector was about the same height as the strip so at a quick glance you don't even notice it. I used a name-brand hole saw from Home Depot. It was surprisingly easy to drill thru the bumper.
Important - after you drill the hole, paint the cut edges with some paint to prevent the edge from rusting and the rust from eventually creeping out from under the connector.

: I am trying to mount my 7 pin trailer connection on my factory bumper in place of the left license plate light. FYI - the vehicle is a 1999 GMC K2500 Suburban. I have the common black plastic bezel with the flip up face that you see quite a bit. My question is what are the board's opinion on the best way to enlarge the existing hole to accomodate the bezel for the 7 pin? Thanks in advance!
