Has anyone expierienced a 'growl' and 'vibration in the gas pedal/floor' with the 8.1 at certain speeds/rpms?
The dealer says 'they all do this' and it is driving me mad and I just need to know if is something I've got to live with.
To me is seems like some exhaust or intake ressonance/harmonic that occurs. It occurs most noticeable when cruising on the highway and the engine needs a little more power, like going up a slight grade. If I take my foot off the gas it goes away immediately, if I accelerate hard it goes away, if accelerate lightly or decellarate lightly, sometimes it gets worse and sometimes better. It can be quite loud. Seems to be worse between 50-65 mph (1800-2200 RPM.
Does not occur in 3rd gear (of course engine is louder to begin with and running higher rpms so maybe I'm just not noticeing it)
