Hello
I am new to this board but been lurking since entering the supersize SUV world a couple of weeks ago.....
I bought a nice used 1996 Yukon LT. Black and loaded! It came without the remotes. I bought a couple on ebay, found instructions for programming and I,too, had no success with the "hold both lock and unlock buttons down routine".....I remember with my 1992 Bonniville SSEi( yes Traveler, I was on the old SSEi board a few years ago! I feel your pain......!) Still have the car!though, but that's another story!
Anyways, with that car, all you did was push the lock button and it worked....so I tried that with the YUK....OBDII connector, short #4 to #8, locks cycle, push (only the)lock button on #1 remote, locks cycle, push (only the)lock button on #2 remote, locks cycle, remove hi-tech paper clip shorting pins....and then turn ingition on and off! Done!
As has been said, the range is no screaming hell but I now have some sort of remote control!
Now if I can only find a cargo cover in grey for this rig.......
Cold up here in Calgary today! -23 C
