Those are your "Homelink" transmitter buttons. They can be programmed to operate garage door openers, or other RF activated devices. As I recall, there's a section in my manual about them, though I don't have it with me right now.
However, you may be able to find sufficient programming instructions at the Homelink link below. I believe there's also some stuff posted in #1 Son's site, and other discussions on this board. Note that if you have a recent garage door opener with "rolling" codes (billions instead of millions of possible codes, to deter hacking) the instructions are different.

: Speaking of owner's manual, I have a set of 3 button's below the overhead courtsey lights on the front, above the rear view mirror, that my manual says nothing about. Would you by any chance know what they are for?
