: Hello,
: My '98 remote door opener went swimming with me and the electronics inside no longer works. Is there anywhere else I can get a replacement besides the dealer?

: Thanks

YES, definitely!

Most of the Alarm Sellers carry various brands of remote replacements. Here's what I find out when I needed to replace the one for my Continental (What piece of JUNK Ford puts out. The buttons became "liquidy" and feels almost like Play Dough!):

1) Dealers will sell you one. BUT, you'll have to pay them, AGAIN separately to program it!

2) Alarm seller have replacements and will program it for you for free and CHEAPER!

3) Alarm Sellers ALSO carry "cases" for those who broke theirs for about $10 if the alarm inerts are still good.

4) Alarm Sellers also carry "learning" remotes if they can't find an exact replacement for your brand.

This last option is a good one because, if you sold your car, you can keep it for another car!

Hope this helps.
