The other night (very cold) I opened the right side rear barn door on my 1988 Suburban and when I shut it I heard a piece of metal fall. It was the assembly that bolts to the body that the bottom of the door latches to.
Anyway I think it was a combination of the severe cold and metal fatigue over time.
Anyway I need to get a new one and dont want a junk yard part as I expect it might do the same thing.
I guess when I get time I will go to a dealer and see if it is a part that can be ordered.
Does anybody know if this is a common part to fail, and where is the best place to get the part if the dealer cant get it.
