My 1999 K2500 is in for a complete fluid change and I supplied most of the fluids. The mechanic wanted to know if the rear differential still needed the "GM conditioner" with the Mobil One I provided. I told him that I didn't think it was necessary (recalled reading it here), but he said it was only $6 and it wouldn't hurt to put it in. Is he right or should I call him and insist that he not use it?
Other services being done today include: tranny filter & flush with Mobil One ATF, tranfer case fluid change with GM stuff, brake fush with Valvoline Synpower, power steering flush with Valvoline Synthetic, coolant flush with Dexcool, and fuel filter replacement. At 35,000 miles, have I missed anything.
Thanks a lot.
