That's why I recommended that the glass then be stripped with alcohol. The wax will remove the spots and the alcohol will remove the wax.

: Any imperfections in the glass (i.e. pits from sand, mild scratches, or even deposits from wax itself) will leave white marks on the windshield. If you get snow on the road and they use sand, you will have many 'pits' in the windows. Wax will make these really show up in early morning and late evening driving, going into the sun.
: Vinegar should work, just be careful not to get any on the paint.
