Ben:
Went through this on another forum. I had one guy talk to another and his reply message is below. He got replacement glass and backing for a Tahoe, gotta believe one is available for a burb.
My wife smashed her 'hoe mirror a couple times without actually breaking the glass! But I have been in there cuz I had to re-fit it. The glass is attached to a plastic backing that just pops out of the power adjuster unit. Can't see why one mfr vs another matters, but ya never know.
Try some of the online sites mentioned below.
Good Luck, let us know what ou find out.

Reply message from other forum:
Well, after a week of talking to 4 different
dealers, I have finally found just the mirror and
backing that I need to fix my 01 HOE.
It seems like the dealers want to sell you the
whole mirror housing and motor for about $500
painted and installed. And they claim there is
nothing else availible.
GMPARTSDIRECT.com on the other hand, gave me
another part # (15062899) that was an assembly of
some sort and cost about $150.
ALLGMPARTS (allgmparts.baweb.com/allgmparts.htm)
finally found the glass and backing ONLY - for
$24. AND you get to talk to someone who actually
knows something
driver's side - part # 12477845
pass. side - part # 12477846
GMPARTSDIRECT.com also listed this but since it is
for a 2000 Tahoe they could not confirm that it
would fit an 01.
Just fyi
Rob
