I'm looking at a 97 C3500 Crew Cab w/ vortec 5.7/4:10 gears, 97k miles. Need a truck to tow a 5th wheel that we recently bought (1990 Alpenlite 26+2 hitch wt 1120 + axle wt 4105 (dry wt.)...it was too good of a deal to pass up). Drove the truck around and noticed a rattle noise more on the passenger side during accleration, almost sounds like a piece of sheetmetal vibrating or a fan shroud loose or something. Do you think this is most likely something is loose, or is this something else that you experts would say "thats the way the xxx sounds when it's about to go out.
I know this is a shot in the dark question but I'm just curious. Also, is there another news board with info on 3500's that is as good this board?...this is a hell of a good board! I assume most of the stuff written about here also applies to a C3500...same engine, same tranny etc.
...oh and any other words of widsom for this model truck is appreciated in advance!
