Their 1st gear is only good for about 3mph and by the time they get to highway speeds, they've gone through about a dozen gears.
Another consideration is an aftermarket overdrive. I'm now considering keeping my rig even longer than usually (10-15-20years), as I don't like all of the new car like attributes and the computer controls (DIY diehard and always noodling things around...my dream 4x4 [Toyota FJ40], dream sports {Lambo Diablo], dream sedan [MB V12], dream boat, etc).
