I recently posted a question about whether there was any way to calibrate my thermometer reading on my '01 Denali XL's rear view mirror display. Thanks to Traveler's lead, I was able to write to someone at Johnson Controls, Inc. who provider the mirror maker, Gentex Corp., with the compass and temperature technologies. (Thanks again, Traveler!) The following is the reply I received:
There is no calibration capability for the temp sensor. I believe the sensor is located in front of the radiator, behind the front grill, such
that air flow is good when the vehicle is moving. So the most accurate readings are when the vehicle has been travelling above say 30 MPH for at least 5 minutes or more. Hope this helps.
