The pinion seal is not too tough if you have a in-lb torque wrench, jack stands, impact wrench and 1-1/4 in 6 pt socket (going from memory on size). Check service manual for pinion preload procedure. You need to remove driveshaft @ rear U-joint, check pinion preload then remove big nut inside pinion yoke. There is probably a big washer in there too. Replace seal and re-assemble/check pinion preload & refill oil. Check the axle seals carefully too (better to find leakers now while everything is apart). Also check the retaining screw that holds the spider gear shaft in. Mine was partially sheared. A new one is $3.
