: Is there already a transmission cooler bracket on a 94 sub 15000 350 are will i have to make one if i install the factory cooler? How do i remove the grill? are can i remove the top around the radiator to reach the area? Thanks

I put a tranny cooler in my 94 K1500 with the 350 last year. There is no tranny cooler bracket. I bought a plate-type cooler from Summit Racing made by B&M for about $42. Don't know if the factory cooler would come with the bracket, but it probably would be available separately if it doesn't. I made my own bracket that attached to the vertical radiator supports. Whatever you do, don't use the plastic ties that go thru the radiator! They come with most coolers.

It will be almost impossible to install without removing the grille. Invevitably, you end up damaging something trying to squeeze tools and parts into a narrow opening.

It's actually pretty easy once you see how its done. First, remove the parking lights under the headlights (4 screws per side) and pull out the bulbs with sockets by twisting them and pulling out. Then remove the 4 screws at the top of the grille under the hood. There is one screw left to remove, its in the center of the grille just above the bowtie emblem. You'll have to reach thru the grille slots to unscrew it, and it's hard to avoid dropping it when it unscrews so watch where it falls. There are now 3 plastic "snap" connectors holding the bottom edge of the grille. One at each end of the grille under the parking light hole (where you removed the parking lights) and one under the center of the grille. First reach thru the parking light holes and unsnap the connection, can't remember if you pull up or push down on the tab. Then carefully tip the top of the grille forward until you can reach behind it at the center bottom to unsnap the last connection. Usually, while you're manuevering the grille to unsnap the center snap, one of the end ones will snap back in, so be patient. The grille is now free to come off. Once you do it and see how it removes, it will be simple next time. I can take it off in 5 minutes now.
