If you go retrieve the truck and then get the camper with less than 500 miles on the new diff, you risk blowing it again.
When you finally do get the truck home, change the diff oil at 500 miles and refill with Mobil 1 75W-90.
With a light duty truck (1500) the synthetic diff oil is almost mandatory to save the diff when towing a heavy load.
There is no reason a diff will wear out at 100K miles if the fluid has been changed at 25K mile intervals, or about 10K mile intervals if used for heavy towing.
