Fill plug on you axle should be 1/2" pipe thread with a square recess. 2 suggestions for adding a temp sensor are replacing the plug with either a brass hex pipe plug drilled & tapped for the 1/8" pipe thread sensor, or a ready made sensor adapter...anybody selling add on gauges will have one.
