It's been a few years since I put in my HD Bilsteins, but it wasn't really a tough job. I did it in the driveway with a 3/8" socket set and a crescent wrench.
I may have used an extension in the back, but it wasn't more than 6" aiof I remember correctly. A real straightforward job. Very satisfying too.
