Good idea. I use AMSOIL MP and a product called Boeshield T-9. The MP is good for general purpose use and also functions like a can of WD-40 as I'm sure you know. The T-9 leaves a waxy film that also gives protection on the undercarriage.

Each fall I'd spray almost a whole can of T-9 on the SSEi that I drove in the winter on anything that looked like it could rust. After 4 years, it was almost spotless.

Now I use the T-9 to protect the barn door hinges and the bottom of all the doors during the winter. Battery terminals too.
