stuck in sand and mud

I occassionally go to lake isabella, kern county dragging jetskies on my 97 4x4 sub. and have seen
all sorts of truck stuck in sand and mud while retrieving their toys. Any suggestions on what emergency
equipment to have to get out of the mud aside from calling for towing service.
