I have a 1995 GMC Suburban 4x4. I am just curious about the front diff. when the 4x4 is off. I know that the transfer case is no longer providing drive up there but are the wheels turning the diff. or are they "free wheeling"?! I had a Jeep Cherokee ('86) that didn't allow the wheels to turn freely in 2 wheel drive, but later years, they had a diff. that disconnected the wheels from drive train.
