I checked the jack, it wasn't bolted down and the spare tire wasn't hooked on correctly. Now that they are,....it still makes the noise.
The parking brake cables are just snug along the frame rail and don't make any noise or hang up when they're moved around. I'll double check the parking brake cable that crosses over to the right.
I'll check out the gas tank and sheild that one of the later posts suggested.
Also, the shocks are brand new Bilsteins. And, the noise was there before I replaced them.
The addition of the bigger (1 7/16" hollow) front bar and 1 1/8" solid rear bar, both from Hotchkis, made an unbelivable HUGE difference in the handling of the truck. On my '88 I just added the rear bar to a stock front bar (with poly front bushings) and it handles great, but this one is fantastic. There was plenty of roll before the bars. Now it's very flat. Very flat, VERY neutral. I've been taking 25 mph (suggested) exit ramps at 50 mph!!!! Just a slight amount of tire noise as the truck drifts out a little. It responds to the throttle during cornering just like my Corvette!!
I'll try to rig up a recording if I can't find the source.
