Dino diff fluid is under $5/quart and synthetic is under $7/quart in any good auto supply store. Takes about 2.5 quarts.
Hardest part is removing the old gasket, cleaning up any gasket bits/pieces, cleaning up any "gunk" inside and then new gasket & cover back on. All about 1 hour's worth of work. They charge around $65.00/hr in the SF Bayarea. It takes more time to buy, set up and then dispose of the old fluid than to actually change it out.
You can do it if you have the wrenchs and you don't have to jack up the vehicle either, just make sure it's on level ground.
