: The GMC dealer is saying that it's gonna cost 180 to change out the diff fluid on a 1999 Sub with the G80. Also mentioned that each pint or quart is 33 bucks times 3 bottles to fill it up, plus labor. Also mentioned that they all changed over to a synthetic formula as well. Does any of this make sense? I had it done at the first oil change and I don't remember paying that much for this service. I'm ready to have it done again (at 13,000 miles now) and now they are pulling this. Does this sound about right?
: Thanks!

Your dealer is a comedian! The differential holds 2 to 2.5 quarts depending on which one it is. 3 x $7.00 for Mobil 1 is $21. You only need to buy a gasket once. Put it on the differential with some Hi-Tack. Rub new fluid over the cover side of the gasket, and then put the cover on. Afterwards, to remove the cover without damaging the gasket, remove all the bolts then TAP the center of the cover ONCE with a rubber hammer. Hit it straight from behind, not at an angle. It will fall off in your other hand. I've used this trick for years. I have the same gasket on my truck 6 years now, and the cover comes off at least twice a year for inspection and fluid changes.
