Our niece in Nashville is about to purchase a ' 97 GMC Suburban. Truck has 57K miles, is a loaded 1500
1/2 ton with 5.7 engine and 4 wheel drive. Since I own a Tahoe, she called me for my recommendation.
She loves the Suburban. I told her about the '96 & '97 tranny problems but don't know exactly how to tell her to
check any particular vehicle to know if it has the problem or whether it has been corrected.
Is there a way she can go to a GM dealer with the VIN & inquire wheather or not this particular vehicle is affected ?
All help will be appreciated. She really wants to purchase this vehicle...asking price is 22.9K with a NEW
set of Michelin LTX M/S !
