: I need help with my windsheild wipers. I have a 92 K2500, and the windshield wipers as of late have become very intermittant. Living in seattle,Wa. the rain capitol of the world, this tends to be a bit of a problem. I will turn them on, and they will work fine for about 5-10 minutes, then they will just stop. The only way to get them going again, is to turn them all the way up to HI, and they will start working again, but only on HI. Or occasionally, after they go back and forth a couple of times I can turn it to a slower speed where it will work for a few more minutes until they stop. So far they have always been able to come back on when I turn it to HI, but that is a bit annoying to always have them running on that setting. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

I had the very same problem on my old(sold, now have a '99 K1500), '92 K2500 Suburban. More than likely, it's due to some broken/bad solder joints on the circuit card, located inside the windshield wiper motor assembly. It's relatively easy to repair, unplug the wire harness from the wiper motor, unscrew the three torx screws that hold the black plastic cover on the front of the wiper motor housing, take the black cover, gently remove the circuit card, carefully inspect all solder joints, especially where the black plastic connector is soldered, you will probably find one or two solder joints with hair line cracks, resolder all joints ot the black connector. Reassemble, reconnect, and yur as good as new. Or, you can go to the dealer and pay about $50.00 for a new circuit card. Al
