Just finished installing E/M actuator and applicable wiring harness. Nothing is easy. Actuator would not fully seat because of "metal burr" on axle housing. Metal burr protruded about 3/16". Used hand file and shaved off metal burr. Installed spacer and new actuator. Now it was time to route the single brown wire. Routed wire adjacent to existing axle actuator wire. Over top of automatic transmission and down left side of transmission. This is where I spent a lot of time. Looking for the correct wire to splice into. Found 4-way flat connector on left side of transmission. This is where I found the switched brown wire to splice into. It was just too hard to splice into the brown wire on the engine side of the connector. So I spliced into brown wire on transmission side of connector. Cut about 1/2" inch of insulation off of brown wire coming out of connector and soldered the brown wire from the new actuator to it. Wrapped with tape. Works like advertised. 1997 K2500 454.
