When I changed mine last year I didn't bother flushing. To my limited knowledge the petro based oils are compatable with sythetic lubes and would not cause a problem with the little residual lube left in the diff after you drain it. If it really bothered you then you could put in the syth, drive a few hundered miles then drain and fill again with synth and that would probably get most of the old petro based lube cleaned out.

: When changing over to synthetic fluid in the diffs, ... What was the procedure to get out the old gear lube? I know there would still be old oil in the tubes. You could leave the cover off for a month and it would never drain out all the way. I would like to do the change, just looking for some direction.
