In my case, I had the gears changed to 4.10s after five years of running 33's with the 3.73 gears. I experienced NO loss in mileage changing gears. I do not tow regularily. When I do, it is usually a utility trailer or construction generator. Most often, I am laden with gear, family, gas, and a ¼-cord of wood on the roof. The extra 10% rpms at cruise are still within the power band.

Pro's: Climbing grades are nicer with the taller gears. Off-line acceleration is easier on the motor.

Con's: None (as long as you're not hot-footing it).
