Torn CV Boots: Replace them or replace half axle?

On my new '93 Suburban I discovered both then inner and outer CV boots were torn on the passenger-side half axle. So, is it better to replace the boots or just replace the whole half?

Looks like about $70 for both the boots, or ~$150 for a whole reman half axle. How difficult is it to change out completely? Any particular tricks?
